Research and Evaluations

VPD provides integrated, responsive, and expert support for cross-cutting social science research and evaluation initiatives for human services programs across HHS. We enable innovation, partnerships, and coordinated efforts to improve the program performance and the well-being of target populations. Our human-centered research and evaluation expertise focuses many areas.

We specialize in feasibility studies, pilot projects, and evaluation initiatives for critical public health, homelessness, education, and human services programs. For one client, VPD supports more than 30 feasibility, pilot, and evaluation projects annually, with at least 25 new projects initiated each year. Our research and evaluation efforts have directly contributed to the development of annual research agendas and the identification of key questions left unanswered in human services topics. Our work has supported the improvement of healthcare research and evaluation services, ultimately enhancing the health and well-being of Americans.

Research and Dissemination

Applies research expertise and oversight to support strategic planning for contracts and grants, as well as procurement, monitoring, and dissemination of federal services and products.

Data & Improvement

Consults program offices on data analytics requirements and provides enterprise data governance and other strategies to strengthen data capacity for evidence-based decisions.

Budget & Administration

Provides budget analysis expertise to produce financial reports, cross-divisional support of contract and grants budgets, and processes invoices.

Project Management

Provides strategic support in evaluating, recommending, and executing improved business processes and initiatives for divisions and project teams.

Procurement

Provides cradle-to-grave subject matter expertise for contract/grant acquisition strategies and processes, and executes activities, trackers, and templates to award and administer contracts and grants that provide the value the government is promised.

Information Technology & Security

Drives Authority to Operate process for software system management and data security, flagging security concerns and increasing efficiency of access for users, ensuring security of systems, databases, and research information in support of research and evaluation.
