Arlington, VA — VPD Government Solutions, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, has been awarded a contract supporting the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an operating division of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that is charged with reducing the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities.
The Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is largely designed around eight initiatives that enable SAMHSA to respond to national, state, territorial, tribal, and local trends to ultimately help people with mental and substance use disorders and their families build strong and supportive communities, prevent behavioral health problems, and promote better health for all Americans. The work is organized across six domains, which provides vendors the ability to offer SAMHSA a range of specialized support.
VPD’s award aligns with Domain IV, Communications, Awareness and Education Projects, wherein VPD will support SAMHSA with the development, implementation, and communication of national strategies aimed at educating communities about SAMHSA’s mental health and substance abuse programs and initiatives.
“This award provides us the opportunity to not only expand our current support services across HHS more broadly, but to also contribute to a mission space that is so critically important in America right now – mental health and substance abuse challenges,” said Tony Brooks, VPD President. “I’m thrilled that VPD has won its fourth prime contract at HHS and will continue to serve the American public through this program with SAMHSA.”
VPD looks forward to working with SAMHSA and its partner organizations as the agency leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation.
